Terms & Conditions

CRIMECON
TERMS & CONDITIONS

The following terms and conditions pertain to all badge holders for CrimeCon events. These terms must be agreed to when purchasing a badge. Please note the cancellation policy is described below as well as in our FAQs.

CrimeCon, LLC (“CC”) is proud to produce CrimeCon (“Event”). The following Registration and Credentials Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to you and any party you are registering for participation in any CC Event (“Participant”), and such Participant’s registration, attendance, participation, enrollment, and/or application for involvement in the Event, including but not limited to your purchase and/or possession of any CC Event entry material, such as badges, wristbands, tickets, passes, and giveaways (“Credentials”). By clicking “accept” below, and/or by obtaining your Credentials you agree to these Terms.

1. Refund Policy. CC may, in its sole discretion, and at any time determined by CC, cancel or refuse from any individual or company the following: Credentials, purchases, and/or hotel reservations made through CC Housing. CC will not be responsible for any penalty, fee, loss, or expense that might result from such action.
a. No refunds are available under any circumstances. Any and all payments made to CC are not refundable for any reason, including Event postponement or cancellation for any reason including, but not limited to, travel-related disruptions, acts of terrorism, public health concerns, terrorism or security-related issues, or other acts of God, or failure to use CC Credentials by Participant for any reason including, but not limited to, to illness, acts of God, travel-related problems, acts of terrorism, public health concerns, loss of employment, and/or duplicate purchase.
b. Unused Credentials have no monetary value and cannot be credited to future years or events. CC will not issue refunds or credits due to failure to redeem a discount coupon during the registration process. Discounted prices are based on the date payment is received in the CC office.
c. Lost or stolen Credentials will not be replaced. In the event Credentials are lost or stolen, new Credentials will need to be purchased for a Participant’s continued access to the Events.
d. CC reserves the right to revoke a Credential for any reason in CC’s sole discretion. As noted in Section 1(a) above, CC will not issue refunds for Credentials that have been revoked.
e. CC reserves the right to change the dates and location of the Event at its sole discretion. All badges will be fully transferrable to the new dates and location. Participants unable to attend an Event may request a credit voucher for the full amount paid. Any voucher issued after 5/1/2022 will expire five (5) years after issuance and will have zero value upon expiration. Vouchers are not tied to a specific Participant name and therefore are applicable toward any future equivalent CrimeCon event badge but not toward merchandise. A lost voucher cannot be replaced.

2. Credentials may be sold or otherwise transferred privately by a Participant. To facilitate a name change the buyer of the Credential must email [email protected] from their registered email address and specifically authorize the transfer of the Credential by including the recipient on the email. All name changes, voucher requests, and other transfer requests must be requested at least 72 hours before the start of the Event to which that Credential pertains. There are absolutely no exceptions to this policy.

3. Credentials are issued to, can be picked up by, and used by only the individual named in the registration. Valid, unexpired, government-issued photo identification is required at the time of pick-up and CC, in its sole discretion, may deny issuance based on lack of identification or identification not matching. CC Credentials are non-transferable after they have been picked up. All CC Credentials are the sole property of CC and can be revoked at any time in CC's sole discretion. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 18+ BY THE FIRST DAY OF THE CONVENTION.

4. CC badges allow a badge holder to have priority entry, but cannot guarantee admission to all programming at an Event as sessions are filled on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Event admission is subject to venue capacity and age restrictions in compliance with state and local laws. No person under the age of 18 will be admitted without the advance written approval of CC.

5. Credentials may not be used as a prize in any form of promotion, contest, game, or sweepstakes without prior written approval from CC.

6. Photographs and/or audio/video recordings taken at the Events by CC, or others on behalf of CC, may include a Participant’s image, name, voice and/or likeness. By attending and/or participating in the Events, each Participant hereby grants CC permission to use the Participant’s photograph, image, likeness, voice and statements for any purpose, including but not limited to commercial purposes, without compensation or credit to the Participant, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised.

No Participant may transmit, broadcast, or communicate any live audio or audiovisual images from the Event without CC's prior written permission.

7. Event Participants are expected to behave responsibly and to treat each other - and the community - with respect, kindness, and compassion. By accepting these terms and conditions all participants agree to abide by CC's Security & Anti-Harassment Policy (https://www.crimecon.com/security). CC reserves the right, without refund, to revoke the Credentials of any Participant whose conduct is deemed inappropriate, disorderly, offensive, or otherwise in violation of the CC Privacy & Anti-Harassment policy in the sole judgement of CC, affiliated third parties, venue security, and/or the local authorities. CC may institute a dress code at the Event, with such code to be described on its website. All Participants are expected to adhere to the dress code and CC reserves the right to revoke the Credential of any Participant not in compliance.

8. CC is a private Event and has a weapons-free policy. Attending Participants are prohibited from carrying weapons of any kind, including concealed or displayed firearms. Participants are not permitted to bring weapons onto the premises of any official CC events. CC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, without refund, to deactivate and/or revoke the Credentials of Participants who violate this weapons-free policy. Participant agrees that this policy is in force, and agrees to comply with the policy, regardless of whether signs prohibiting weapons are posted at the premises of any official CC event. CC may check any Participant’s bag at any time in its sole discretion. Participants with a bag who decline to have their bag checked (or remove it from the Event) may have their Credential revoked

9. Each Participant understands that participating in the Events is voluntary and may involve certain risks of physical injury, damage to property, and other damages or losses that may be sustained by a Participant. Each Participant assumes all risk of damages, property loss, and personal injury which may occur by participating in the Events.

While all parties are all taking appropriate measures in accordance with leading public health authority guidelines to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 during the Event, neither Participant, nor the Host Hotel, nor CC will ever be able to completely eliminate the risk that COVID-19 or any other virus may be present at the Event.

CC and the Host Hotel must protect themselves from liability for personal injuries and/or illnesses sustained or contracted by any person travelling to and/or attending the Event.

Each Participant affirms that they understand their participation and/or involvement in any activity, session, event, or experience related to the Event carries with it the potential for certain risks, some of which may not be reasonably foreseeable. Participants acknowledge that these risks could cause them, or others around them, harm, including, but not limited to, bodily injury, damage to property, emotional distress, or death.

11. CC is committed to making the Event accessible to all participants. If you require accommodations to fully participate in the Event, please contact us at least ninety (90) days in advance of the Event at [email protected] to discuss your needs. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request, subject to availability and feasibility. We strive to provide accessible facilities, programming, and materials, and will work with you to ensure that your experience at the Event is as inclusive as possible.

12. IN NO EVENT SHALL CC BE LIABLE TO ANY PARTICIPANTS, OR ANY OTHER PERSON OR ENTITY FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY OR DAMAGES TO PROPERTY, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF BUSINESS PROFITS OR OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS, INCLUDING ANY DIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE OR SIMILAR DAMAGES, ARISING OUT OF ANY PARTICIPANT’S USE OF THE REGISTRATION, CREDENTIALS AND/OR PARTICIPATION IN THE EVENTS, EVEN IF CC HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

15. The Terms will be governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its principles of conflicts of laws. Each Participant and CC hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the United States federal and state courts located in New York, NY and agrees that any such court will be the proper forum for the determination of any dispute arising hereunder.

16. CC reserves the right to make changes to the Terms at any time without notice to each Participant, so please return to review the Terms from time to time.
